first impressions
a) the poem is about digging at a first impression
b) the words which stuck to me the most were digging and potatos because they are repeated alot through out the poem.
c) heaney is different from his farther because he writes poems but his farther and grand farther were farmers and digged potatos.

where is the writer at the start of the poem?
at the start of the poem the writer seamus heamey is looking down, watching his farther digg.
what does the sight of his farther digging in the lower bed remind him of?
it reminds him of twenty years ago while he was still digging for potatoes.

seamus heaney also talks about his grandad bieng a skilled driver he shows that patatoe digging runs in the family.
